VIEW FROM THE EISENHOWER FARM
An Original Plein Air Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'View from the Eisenhower Farm'
Gettysburg Festival Art Colony  2012
Oil
6 x 8

On the third day of the Gettysburg Festival Artist Colony,
I gave a workshop on working with a limited palette
when painting plein air.  I really enjoyed seeing the artists
try various limited palettes as they approached their
next painting, and when we went to the Eisenhower farm
in the afternoon, I used a limited palette of Prussian Blue,
Alizarin Crimson and Cadmium Lemon Yellow for
this view of the mountains.

If you would like to see more of my work,

interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see

I love seeing works painted with limited palettes. This is lovely and has inspired me to try to mix more colors.

I can't believe you only used three colors, Claire! This really is stunning.

Thank you so much, Maria. If you try the limited palettes, you will learn SO much about color.

I really did, Sherry! I have been having fun trying different combinations for a limited palette and this is one of my favorites.
