GARDEN IN THE WOODS
An Original Plein Air
Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Garden in the Woods'
Plein Air
Oil on Linen Panel
12 x 9

Yesterday my good friend Pat Putz and I braved
the scorching heat and painted her beautiful
garden in the woods.  As we painted, I
enjoyed the sounds of her chickens and the
occasional breeze that drifted by. It was a
wonderful time shared with a dear friend!

Below is Pat working on her painting (with my
gear to her left).

Next to the one of yours that I already own, this is a new favorite, Claire. I just think this is so beautiful, the colors, the setting, sigh...Luck Pat!

We have really had a season of beautiful flowers, and Claire, I think you have managed to capture all of them in your paintings. Beautiful!

Love the painting! Also you had asked where Carter Caves is located. It's in Olive Hill, KY. There are several natural arches there along with some caves that can be toured with a guide. You used to be able to go in some of the other caves (if you had a flashlight) on the property, but they are trying to prevent white-nose syndrome or something that's effecting the bats.
