MORNING PRAYERS
An Original Plein Air
Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Morning Prayers'
Oil Plein Air
Ashcombe's Market,
Mechanicsburg, PA
11 x 14

This is the second time I have gone to Ashcombe's Market
to paint their sunflowers.  We got there early last Thursday morning
when the grass was wet with dew, and the sunflowers had
their heads bent as if in morning prayer.  As they started to
warm up in the sun, their heads began to lift toward
the light.  Life is good.

What a wonderful title and a painting to go with it Claire!
I have always thought about the Sunflowers in this perspective, how much they wait and look forward to the sun to bloom to their full potential!

Absolutely stunning, Claire, truly. I love your words too; part of prayer is looking towards the Light.

Thank you, Padmaja. How can a person not smile when they see a sunflower :)

So pretty ~ and I love the title! ... pop on over to my blog and check out my granddaughters first oil painting that she's ever done. I did the post on Monday and the post title is "first oil~" In fact... it's her first time painting anything ever. I posted it a few days back. I may be a little bias being her Grandma and all; but I was pretty impressed.

Claire, this is a great reminder that life is Good!

I used this scripture on my blog this week....
"God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."
Love your title!
