This is the view from my living room window this morning
around seven-thirty.  We got a nice little snow yesterday,
and when I got up this morning there were some light
flurries.  I like the way the front porch creates a
frame to the actual scene.

All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

That arch reminds me of those really cool frames some people are using these days. You have built it right into the painting - which is so lovely! You guys have had a lot of winter this season! Hope Teensie is doing well!?

Thanks, Pattie. I am happy to say that Teensie is feeling much better. She must have been brewing a little something that was alleviated by the antibiotics they gave her. It is SO nice to have my sweet kitty back to her normal self (and not the grumpy, snarling kitty who wouldn't let anyone pet her!)

Love this composition and the tonal quality, you really got it spot on. Looking back, I really enjoy the toy horse, such a classic feel. Looks like a BIG painting!

Great design using the arch and the dark of the tree. Love it.

Oh boy! I think this is just stunning and what a view! The colors are so harmonious and I can almost picture the outside of your house because of the columns on the porch that frame this out so beautifully. One of my favorites!

This is a beautiful painting, Claire! Why didn't you paint outside?? LOL. The framing of the porch does add to this piece!
