SHADES OF GREY
An Original Oil Painting

'Shades of Grey'
Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day Eighteen
Oil on Panel
6 x 6

I almost didn't post this piece, even though I painted it for
the challenge this past week.  All my other paintings
are still lifes with lots of color, where this is...well, it's
a landscape with shades of grey.  It's the view from the west
side of my studio - catching the dormer on the
front side of my house (and my favorite
pine tree in our yard).

All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

If you would like to join this Challenge, or just follow the
work of the participating artists, just visit her blog:

Grey of winter, seems like it's around once a year for many of us, but you have painted it to be lovely! I like the view you have...must be nice to sit and think once in awhile and enjoy that unobstructed beauty. Glad you posted it! It's very nice!

Greys can be tough, so many shy away, but not you!love the quiet complexity.
