Cubism
Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day One
Oil on Canvas Panel
8 x 8
I am a little late with this first painting, but until
tonight I was not quite sure what direction I was going
to take. I know I wanted to use larger brushes...but
then I came up with the idea to take a pear (or pears) and
using them as the subject for my thirty paintings,
I would paint each one of the paintings in a different styles.
I think this is going to be fun!
This first painting is based upon the cubist style. One of
my favorite cubist artists is Piet Mondrian, so this is loosely
based upon his style. I did some research, and learned
that Mondrian did not just do the very straight and perfect
geometric paintings I was used to.
In fact, I found a new favorite
'The Grey Tree'.

Claire....this is so different for you...It's COOL!
Very stained glass looking, which I do love! And I can see why the tree is a new favorite. It is wonderful!
I really like the look in this pear! And what a challenge you gave yourself, but I'm looking forward to all the styles you do. Wonderful idea!
Hey - I like that you are going to be painting your 30 in 30 in different art styles - what a great idea! Love this one - the colors are perfect and it almost looks like you could create a mosaic from it with tiles...neato!
Excellent...so interesting and different for you. Looking forward to your next pear!
What a surprise to see this work. Thanks for sharing the info on Mondrian. Your pear glows.
