I DREAM OF FIGS
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'I Dream of Figs'
Oil 6 x 8

I did this painting as part of the online painting challenge
Paint and Draw Together, which was started by artist
Lela Stankovic.

When I first started working on this painting, I
foolishly thought that it would be something I could
accomplish without too much difficulty...then I started
working on the colors and textures of the figs...
Consequently, every night I dreamt of
the figs, and how I would paint them!

With such a common fruit in the bible, the addition of the starry background has this composition making me think of ancient days and the time of Christ. Beautiful work, Claire, and the texture is perfection!

Love the colors of the figs. Sounds like you have 2 great shows in September.

Love the title! I, too, spent a lot of time "thinking" on this challenge. Love your starry night rendition.
