EWE AND LAMB
Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Ewe and Lamb'
oil on linen panel
9 x 12

This summer I was fortunate to be able to paint several
times at the Dickinson College Farm.  While I was there, I
took the opportunity to take many reference shots of
the farm, and also of their lovely sheep.  The lambs
were adorable, and full of shenanigans.  This little one was just
content to walk to the water trough with his mother.

I am so fond of these farm scenes. Yours has an old masterly feel to it, very classic!

Thanks you, Hilda. I really enjoyed playing with the subtle colors in this painting.

Thank you, Marie - I think that the darker background helps this look like an older style painting.

Sherry - as always, thank you for your comments! I appreciate your noticing the background colors, especially since I put a lot of thought into what would set the sheep off best!
