Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day Twenty One
Oil on Panel
6 x 6
100.00/Free Shipping
Last September I got to go up to Cape Cod to paint
plein air for a week. It was such an amazing
place, and as we were at different beaches, I collected
items to remind me of the great time I had there.
Here are a few from the jar where
they are stored.
All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

I love shelling and they do make great subjects. Nice painting!
Very elegantly done, lovely collection!
Oh Claire, this is gorgeous!!! I absolutely love it! And what's kinda funny, at least to me, is that quite literally yesterday morning I bought one of those beautiful display potpourri sets, like the type you see in Pottery Barn Catalogs and all. You know, the kind with sea shells and weirdly large nut shells and all sorts of odd little elements. It's supposed to be for our house but I honestly bought it more for the desire to paint some of the objects in it for this 30 day challenge. Great minds think alike, right? Lol, I'm so kidding (at least about my mind anyways!). But I can't wait to get to painting mine and hope it's even half as beautiful as yours here. Love it and am super inspired by this one! Great job! =)
Wonderful color harmonies and excellent draftmanship!
I love the organic shapes that you chose for this painting, Claire. And you painted them so beautifully. Lovely painting!!
Great job Clarie. This is a lovely painting.
Great job Clarie. This is a lovely painting.
What a really lovely painting Claire. The colors
are soft and harmonious and the shells
look great.
Super job, I especially love that little starfish! Great composition too.
i LOVE cape cod! the colors and light in this piece are so warm and just glorious!
Considering I have a sudden yen for clam chowder, I would say this piece is quite a success! Your week at the beach sounds amazing to me; I'd have loved it!
Beautifully painted, Claire!!
There is a 'star' to this one - he is standing on the left side - the colors of this one are fantastic! I love the muted purples and peaches and pinks. Usually when I have the opportunity to collect, my finds are always broken or worn from the ocean. I have to get to the east coast some day..hope you aren't too cold and snowy there.
Thank you, Debra - I never go to the beach without coming home with some shells!
Thanks so much, Padmaja!
Thank you, Melissa! I look forward to seeing your shell painting!
Thanks so much, Susan!
Thanks, Darla - I really loved working with the softer palette of colors for this one.
