CAT WATCH
An Original Oil Painting

'Cat Watch'
Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day Twenty Seven
Oil on Panel
6 x 6

My cat Teensie loves to sit in this window and see
what's going on outside.  We even placed some bird feeders
close by so that she (and we) could watch the birds.
I can always tell when she is seeing something
that particularly interests her because that tip of her
tail curls up and starts to twitch!

All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

Of course - animals are my favorite - I can almost see her tail swishing as she watches birds..know that move - so well. I love the filtered softness of the atmosphere that surrounds her. I hope she is doing better. Very nice Claire.

I love this! You've done a lot with an almost monochromatic scheme. The light is lovely.

My cat does the same thing; his tail starts twitching and he makes a weird little chattering noise with his mouth.

Love this painting. Peaceful, soft, familiar.

Clare, this is fabulous, the glow in the ears... sigh. Wonderful work. I've enjoyed looking at all your paintings during our... almost over!... challenge and I plan on keeping touch with you after!

Claire, I don't know if my first comment to you went through, so here it is again... I love this painting, the warmth and glow in the ears... sigh, again. I admire your work and will keep in touch after the challenge.

Thank you, Pattie! I had fun painting this, especially her little ears. She is doing better, but the tummy still seems to be upset. Will be trying to work to get that better now.

Thank you, Marla - I love that chirping sound cats make! Mine always 'talks' to me as she comes up the steps each morning.

Thank you, Marilyn!

Thanks, Ann - it definitely is a common cat pose, even with the 'twitching' tail. They're pretty special little animals.

Thank you, Liz - she is my little sweetheart!

She's a beautiful subject, Claire. The fur looks so soft..and love the pink in his ears! I left a comment on your previous painting."Seventeen Degrees", but I think Google gobbled it! another beautiful piece..

Thank you, Hilda - she is such a pretty cat. Your remark on my other painting 'Seventeen Degrees' is showing up on my blog. Because I use email verification, if I'm not on my computer for awhile the remarks don't get posted right away. It was probably my fault!

Teensy has the best seat in the house for window watching! And my cats do the same when they spot something interesting out the window...twitch that tail! I love the light and shadow of this piece, Claire!
