CHERRIES AND DEPRESSION GLASS
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell
Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day Twelve

'Cherries and Depression Glass'
Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day Twelve
Oil on Panel
6 x 6

Currently for sale at
Brath and Hughes Fine Arts Gallery, L.L.C.

My obsession with dishes continues...and I thought this
green Depression Glass compote would make
a wonderful vessel for the red cherries.  This was so
much fun to paint, but once again very difficult to
photograph - think my using Liquin is also adding a shine
that is adding to the problem.  It's always a learning process...

All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

Wow! What a gorgeous series these glass pieces on that box is making. This is just beautiful, Claire!!

I am sure I can have the flu shot but I don't want it. We're lucky we haven't caught that nasty bug going around this year too.

Your rendering of the depression glass and cherries is wonderful, Claire... nice reflections! I often have issues photographing dark backgrounds, and I agree using Liquin doesn't help. ugh!

Just lovely; I also love depression glass. Pink has always been my favorite, but I love this green.
