I inherited the dish collecting gene from my mother
and my grandmother, and I have a particular
fondness for blue and white pieces.  This is a
very small pitcher that I picked up a couple of years
ago...my excuse being that I wanted to paint it!

All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

Claire, This is such a beautiful little pitcher. I love the way the cherries add that pop. Your highlights and brush strokes are wonderful. Love it!

Mornin' Claire - great idea to have to collect so you can paint it! What a cute little pitcher - one can never have enough of them or butter dishes I feel! I love the touch of cherries, too!

I had to laugh when you said you bought the pitcher with the excuse to paint it. I've got way to many things which were bought with that excuse. I'm enjoying seeing you lovely paintings.

I'm so glad I found your blog; love these paintings! I also love blue and white china, but only odd pieces. This pitcher is great, and I can see why you wanted it. The cherries are the perfect accent.
