'Rice Bowl and Spoon'
Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day Nine

Another treasure from the china closet, and a box
my son-in-law made when he was in high school
helped to get this newest challenge painting going.
Normally, I would paint to a certain point, and then I would
let it dry so I could glaze. Since I am doing these one day
at a time, the real challenge was to create the same
effects while working wet on wet.
What an incredible learning experience!
All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

Wonderful still life piece. I could never do a bowl like that looking so perfect and effortless!
Claire, This is such a wonderful painting of this sweet little bowl! Love the highlights and shadows.
Two of your favorite items - the shadow is so perfect on the wooden box. The colors are nice warm and cool - great Claire!
Congrats on your 30 paintings in 30 days, they are all looking great! Love the composition with this one, delicate pattern and strong shadows. Very nice!
This is my favorite of these 30 day challenge pieces yet, Claire. I love the colors, the bowl design, everything. Love the mottled background too.
