Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge
Day Seven

When I first approached painting these metal measuring
cups, I wasn't sure where to begin. Then I noticed the wonderful
abstract shapes, and the painting began to 'paint' itself!
Don't you love it when that happens?
One of the great benefits of doing this challenge is
getting to meet new artists. I absolutely love the work of
fellow Pennsylvania artist Susan Williamson.
All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.
If you would like to join this Challenge, or just follow the
work of the participating artists, just visit her blog:

It's a nice idea, Claire, from the distance II thought they were saucepans, on the sreen the proportions are misleading. And this blue colour is very suitable for the subject.
Hi Claire,
I love your painting today! Great job creating those reflections in the metal. I've enjoyed your paintings in this 30 day challenge.
Claire, I love the simplicity of this composition balanced by the complexity of the reflections, shadows and modeling of the silver. Beautiful work!

Darn it. I've never been blessed with a painting painting itself! But this is just nice and I find the color palette really soothing (I have a headache)!
Wonderful painting, Claire! Love the shadows and reflections!!!
