AUGUST FIELDS
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'August Fields'
© Claire Beadon Carnell
Oil on Linen Panel
18 x 24

This painting depicts one of my absolute favorite farms, which is
close to where I live.  When I drive by here, I often have to
pull over just to admire the contours of the land, and
the way one hill slopes into another. I hope that you get
the warm feel of the sun that I was attempting to paint,
especially today with the cold winter wind blowing!

What a beauty! To be painting so large must be wonderful. This one is like I am there pulled over on the side of the road taking it all in. Just a lovely view!
Hope your snow is not too deep..and if it is, keep painting!

Reminds me of home. Some areas of Kentucky are like that...such beautiful scenery.

This is really a lovely spot and I have the feeling I am there because it is painted so well. I am curious about how long it took you to paint that tree?

A beautiful place and I can see why an artist would be inspired to pull over just to take it all in. A beautiful painting, Claire.

Thanks, Pattie, and yes - although I love to do the smaller paintings it is nice to 'stretch out' on a larger canvas!

Debra, thank you - it's a beautiful country we live in, that's for sure.

Thanks so much, Julie. That's a difficult question...I ma going to guess that it probably took me around three hours total. There were some areas that would have to dry before I could work again.

Thanks for the reply Claire. I just read on Hilda's blog that your husband was involved in a car accident and suffered whiplash. A nasty thing that so I hope he heals okay. It can last for years.
Sending my best.
