FINISHED!
FLOATING ALONG
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Floating Along'
Oil on Canvas
24 x 30

Several years ago we were in Maine with my daughter and
her family, staying at a wonderful cabin right along the 'pond'.
I had never been kayaking before, but my daughter and I
decided to take a trip along the 'Serpentine' - a four mile
round trip.  It was incredible to be at water level, observing
the flora and fauna.  It was an incredible experience.

This painting is 95% from memories of our journey...the
soft summer breeze, floating along side the gorgeous water lilies, the
amazing blues and greens of the water, and the wonderful,
unforgettable time I had with my daughter.

I think it is beautiful and even moreso with its history of idea. What sweet memories!

I would imagine that this gorgeous scene would be etched in everyone's mind...so how "can" you forget? It sounds like a beautiful place to visit, Claire. You did an amazing job with the water and those lilies are beautifully painted.

This one is awesome, Claire, and to be part and memory of an incredible time you spent with your daughter is what is special about the painting. I love the flora that you can see just beneath the surface and then the lily pads and flowers are so nice. I remember a big lily pond at my aunt's in St. Louis county in the 50's. A lot of frog sounds come to mind.

I commented on this and something happened that it wasn't published but I really needed to tell you how beautiful this painting is...and it sounds like you had such a wonderful day with your family!

Your colors and composition draw me right into this serene scene. Very nice painting, Claire! I'm still painting small. How did it feel to "go big" after the 30/30?
