WHAT'S ON MY EASEL TODAY
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

After posting a new painting every day in the month of January,
I started to feel as though I was really falling behind in February!
Actually, I have been working on some new pieces that I hope to
exhibit some time in this new year.  Above is a painting of some
water lilies that are on my easel right now, with a detail
of the painting below.  I am getting pretty close to the 'watery'
look I want to achieve...

Awesome piece Claire!! What don't you paint?

This is lovely Claire. I always admire artists who can capture water AND flowers. I struggle with flowers, but I still paint them. :)

Very pretty, Claire! Your colors and composition are so lovely, and you have definitely captured the watery feel. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks so much Debra - I have really enjoyed playing in the paint here, and hope it will eventually get to where I want it to be!

I agree, Pattie - I have been enjoying painting on this the past couple of days. Not so hyper-speed, and I am loving pushing the paint around the canvas at a more thoughtful pace!

I can't see water lilies without thinking of Monet, of course. Love the look of the water and the green leaves on it are just gorgeous!
