This is my fourth entry for Leslie Saeta's 'Thirty Paintings in
Thirty Days Challenge 2015'. For this challenge, I have
decided to do thirty small studies from my trip last September
to Martha's Vineyard. My hope is that some of these studies
will be worked into larger paintings.
I was standing on a bridge looking down at the reflections
on the water at the Mytoi Japanese Gardens
in Chappaquiddick waiting for the turtles to peek up
through the water when I noticed the brilliant red leaves.
At first I thought they were tiny koi, but quickly realized that
they were leaves that had fallen off a tree
and were bobbing and floating along on the surface
of the water. A beautiful moment while I was visiting
Martha's Vineyard.
