BACHELOR BUTTON (Mountain Bluet)
100 Paintings in 100 Days 'Inspirations from a Back Yard' Challenge
04/100

'Bachelor Button (Mountain Bluet)'
Oil 5 x 7 04/100

Day 04! Another flower from my gardens.
These bachelor buttons grow profusely in my
back flower bed. They are one of the first
perennials to bloom, and if I am good about
dead-heading them they bloom through the
summer months. Of course they are blue, and
therefore one of my favorites.

Tellement beau le bleuet. Il avait déserté nos bordures de champs à cause des pesticides... Heureusement il réapparaît peu à peu. Beau et doux rêve en regardant celui que vous nous présentez. Très joli... merci

What an interesting flower (and beautiful painting!); I'd not heard of 'Bachelor's Buttons' before. Well done, Claire!

I've heard of Bachelor Buttons, but never knew what they looked like. I don't speak French, but is Marti saying that they are a natural pesticide? That would be a plus, in addition to their beauty. Great job on creating depth in the head of the flower and like the way you carried the blue color into the leaves. Nice painting.
