JOHNNY JUMP-UPS
100 Paintings in 100 Days Challenge

'Johnny Jump-Ups'
Oil 5 x 7

Day 09

These tiny little flowers always put a smile on
my face. Even though I only planted them once about
twelve years ago, they pop up in unexpected places
somewhere different each Spring.

This year I was pleasantly surprized to find a large
mound of them in my front flower bed!

Lovely. These have been some of my favorite flowers for as long as I can remember.

Stunning in its beautiful simplicity, Claire. Are they really called Johnny Jump-Ups?

Thanks, everyone. Sherry - I have always known these little flowers to be Johnny Jump-Ups or violas.

I have seen them before, they look like miniature pansies. Your tiny bottle holding them is so well painted!

I have these flowers in my yard too, I love their cheerful little faces, and many different color combinations. Your painting of them is just perfect.
