Day 13

I got to visit the backyard of Katie College,
and the Stoney Creek Iris Farm yesterday
for this painting. What a visual feast
for the eyes - I've never seen so many different
colors of iris. It was a beautiful, bright and sunny
morning - a perfect plein air day.

It was also nice to have a little painting companion,
a tiny kitten named 'Dizzy'. Her antics were enough
to keep me chuckling all morning. In the picture
below, she is eyeing up a piece of
a plant that was blowing in the breeze...and
getting ready to attack...

Gorgeous painting of irises. I just painted some also, close to this color. Flowers are such fun to paint aren't they? Your work is just lovely.

Oh, Claire, what a beautiful painting you got yesterday. Somehow, you also have to paint that kitten. The pet exhibit is coming up at the end of the month at Gallerie 13.

I'm surprised you were able to paint with this little pretty Dizzy nearby! Babies of all breeds and genuses are just beautiful and something I find hard to take my eyes from! Anyway, the irises are beautiful!! The day sounds as though it was simply perfect!!

The iris here are glorious too. Your painting inspires me to give mine a closer look.
