'Time for Lunch'
Oil 5 x 7
31/100
Day 31
This bumblebee is headed straight for
a luncheon buffet at the purple coneflower
cafe! This flower (aka echinacea) draws so
many butterflies, bees and other insects
when it is at its peak. When
it starts to dry out in the fall, then
the birds flock in for the seeds it produces.
It's always a nice plant to have in the garden!

Très jolie cette peinture...
I didn't know this was a coneflower/echinacea! Love the colors against that gorgeous sky, Claire. This looks like one fat and happy bumble bee!
One of my favorite flowers, Claire. Beautifully done!
I love these flowers and I love to paint pink for some reason. NIce job with the bee! We have a bush, don't know the name, that has about 100 bees and 15 butterflies on it every day. The flowers are going past, I will miss the busy gatherers!
Beautiful flower & wonderful painting of it. My coneflowers did not come back this year and I am so disappointed. For years they self seeded & returned mixed in amongst the phlox, but none this year. So your painting brought a smile to my face and a fond memory to my heart. Thank you.
